Above address will take you to the appeal page on the SVR official web site, dig deep chaps..............

Well, suppose you’ve all heard by now. Massive rain, or rather draining of rain water damage, at several wide spread points along the line between Bewdley and Bridgnorth.

During the weekend, volunteer work parties were out doing all they could. Many of the minor land slips onto the line have been cleared and culverts that became blocked with mud and debris have been as far as possible emptied.

Sunday I took the opportunity to walk from Bewdley to Arley (and back) to see the full extent of the damage in this section.

I CANNOT OVER EMPHASIZE ENOUGH. PEOPLE MUST STAY OFF THE DAMAGED SECTIONS. THEY HAVE NOW BEEN GIVEN OVER TO CONTRACT WORKS VEHICLES WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT OPERATE TO RAILWAY PROTOCOLS.  ALSO, THE VIEWS HERE ARE ONLY OF DAMAGE THAT IS VISIBLE TO THE EYE, WE DO NOT AS YET KNOW IF UNDERGROUND DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED TO THE LINE OR THE STRUCTURES ON IT.  PLEASE STAY OFF TO HELP SPEED UP RECONSTRUCTION. THANK YOU.
